Intimide

About

Kris Pijpers maintains a fine line in her work between attraction and repulsion, between strength and vulnerability. Her images feel raw, intimate and sometimes uncomfortable. She uses photography as a way to make hidden emotions, human tension and themes around identity, sexuality and alienation visible.

Project

This project explores how intimacy can become timid after sexual violation. It stems from an underexposed theme: sexually transgressive behavior toward men. Despite its real presence, it often remains unspoken due to shame, silence, and prevailing ideas about masculinity. The aim of this series is to break this taboo and make clear that sexual violation can affect anyone, regardless of gender.
