Project
"i turned to look" explores the tension between control and chance within street photography. In photographing, a moment often arises when the camera registers more than I consciously saw myself. By working with expired analog film, that unpredictability is amplified through imperfections, color shifts and unexpected results.
Through intensively cutting into the images, I try to pull control back towards me. By reframing images, I determine where the attention goes and what meaning an image receives. "i turned to look" is essentially a personal investigation into how I regain control over what I want and what I like to do.
