About
Femke (23) is a journalist and final-year photography student at KdG Sint Lucas Antwerpen. During her studies, she explored various photographic disciplines, but her heart lies with conceptual photography. She prefers working with stories that grow from personal emotions and curiosities. Her soft colors and delicate editing create an intimate atmosphere and establish a certain sensitivity that leaves room for personal interpretation.
Project
In this project I investigate what happens when feelings are bigger than the words that should carry them. I focus on the vulnerability, loneliness and confusion that arises when an inner world moves intensely, but struggles to come out. Through photography I search for ways to make that unspeakable visible. In this way I visualize the tension and intimacy of feelings and show how the body sometimes speaks where language falls short.
