Elyse Vandeleur is a photographer from Antwerp who mainly focuses on documentary photography. Driven by curiosity, she investigates topics in which contradictions and ambiguity play an important role. With tight framing and a graphic visual language, she creates images that raise questions and leave room for interpretation.
Project
Mount explores taxidermy in Belgium as a craft that balances between care, materiality and tangibility, with attention to the slow processes and shared knowledge that sustain the practice. The focus is on interventions where the original form of the animal changes and shifts. In this way, this practice opens new perspectives on our relationship with death, and on the ways in which we preserve and cherish it.
