About
Ananda Gils is an Antwerp-based photography student working within fashion, sports, and conceptual photography. Her work focuses on detail, materiality, and sculptural forms, combining minimalist compositions with a cinematic visual language. Through texture, light, and silhouette, she creates images that balance purity, tension, and contemporary fashion aesthetics.
Project
This fashion series reframes the use of real fur in contemporary fashion by shifting the focus from controversy toward materiality, sustainability, and tactile beauty. Working with vintage and upcycled pieces, the project presents fur as a durable, circular material, in contrast to synthetic fast-fashion alternatives. Through a high-fashion visual language, the series questions contemporary ideas of value, luxury, and sustainable consumption.
